When is SOKA-BAU relevant—and when is it not?
Case 1: You work without employees on your own business license.
If you do not employ any skilled workers yourself and are exclusively self-employed, you are not required to pay contributions to SOKA-BAU. In this case, a SOKA negative certificate is required.
We will check and settle any SOKA contributions on your behalf in a clear and transparent manner.
Case 2: You work with your own specialists.
As soon as youemploy skilled workerswho are subject to social security contributions and are working on German construction sites, the SOKA-BAU requirement applies. Contributions must be paid, vacation days must be accurately recorded, and payroll reports must be submitted correctly.

Case 3: You work with external specialists.
If you subcontract work to other companies, you must also comply with SOKA-BAU as a self-employed craftsman. Without a valid SOKA clearance certificate, the skilled workers in your team may not be employed.

5. Project planning, including vacation time
The project duration is planned in such a way that vacation time is fully taken into account and compensated.
6. Vacation notification and payment
We transmit vacation notifications correctly and monitor payments until everything is balanced.

Important information about the construction site
SOKA-BAU doesn't have to be complicated. We make it a fixed, predictable part of your projects. Depending on the assignment, additional documents may need to be provided (e.g., identification documents, A1 certificates, posting notifications, work logs, and proof of minimum wage, contracts, or insurance).
In practice, missing or incomplete documentation quickly leads to follow-up inquiries and significant additional work—and can even result in service interruptions, withheld payments, or fines.
